Renewable Energy

Making clean, renewable electricity and heat more available and less expensive for Canadians is the goal of two ecoENERGY Renewable Initiative programs.  Combined with existing renewable energy solutions for homeowners, these programs help pave the way for a cleaner, healthier environment.

The ecoENERGY for Renewable Power program will increase the supply of clean electricity from low-impact renewable sources such as wind, biomass, hydro, geothermal, solar photovoltaic and ocean energy through a production incentive of 1 cent per kilowatt-hour over ten years on eligible projects.

The ecoENERGY for Renewable Heat program will increase the use and creation of renewable thermal energy.

PLEASE NOTE: these programs provide funding only for Canadian utilities, businesses, municipalities, institutions and non-governmental organizations.
