ecoENERGY – Retrofit Homes Program Update

The Government of Canada’s ecoENERGY Retrofit – Homes program continues to be exceptionally popular among Canadian homeowners.

Since the program was launched in April of 2007, the Government of Canada has delivered over $58 million in grants to more than 52,500 homeowners

The popularity of the program has meant some Canadians are experiencing delays in receiving their retrofit grants.

These delays have been caused by the need to obtain Parliamentary approval to transfer additional funds to the program to meet the greater-than-expected demand.

In the meantime, the program will continue to send completed applications from homeowners to provinces that offer complementary home retrofit grants. This way, payment of provincial grants will not be delayed.

Thank you for your patience while the program continues to review and process applications. Grant cheques will be issued to homeowners as quickly as possible.
